Event Planning FAQ's

We have created this page to give you an idea of some of the things you will need to think about when planning your Event, Wedding or Party Childcare. Event Childcare have developed this guide after many years of working in the childcare industry.

What are the Staff to Children ratios?

To comply with EYFS, the number of Nannies to Children is as follows:

Under 2 years old 1 : 3

2 years old 1 : 4

3 years plus  1 : 6

If you are using an Event Childcare Mobile Crèche, there will be a Crèche Manager outside of the Adult : Child Ratio.

For Wedding & Event Nannies we work to the stated ratios.

How much space do Event Childcare need at the venue?

For an Event Childcare Mobile Crèche or if you are booking a separate room for the event nannies and children, you will need to make sure there is enough space to comply with EYFS regulations.

The space required is:

Age of children – Space for each child

Under 2 years – 3.5 square metres

2 years and over – 2.5 square metres

3  years plus -  2.3 square metres

What do you need to supply Event Childcare with?

Event Childcare request that you and your venue provide us with the following:

  • A suitable area for play
  • Tables, chairs and high chairs (if applicable)
  • Nappies, wet wipes and disposal bags
  • Food and drinks for all the children (unless we have agreed to organise the catering for the event)
  • Travel cots or beds if the children need an afternoon nap or are going to sleep in the creche
